John Duncan Grimston, 7th Earl of Verulam (born 1951), known as the Honourable John Grimston until 1973, is a British
peer.
He succeeded to the title of Earl of Verulam
in 1973 on the death of his father.
He is married to Dione Angela Smith (daughter of Jeremy Smith and Julia Burrell), the Countess of Verulam, who was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire
in June 2007 following the retirement of Sir Simon Bowes-Lyon
. She was previously High Sheriff of Hertfordshire
in 1992.
Lord and Lady Verulam have four grown-up children, consisting of three sons and a daughter. The eldest son and heir apparent is:
