 Joanna Margaret Cruickshank (1875 – 16 August 1958) founded the RAF Nursing Service in November 1918 and served as its first Matron-in-Chief. In November 1930 she retired as Matron-in Chief.

Biography

Joanna Margaret Cruickshank was the second daughter of William Cruickshank. She served as sister in the Lady Minto Nursing Association and later in the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS).

In 1940 Cruickshank she was named Commandant of the Rushen Women's and Married Internees Camp on the Isle of Man
