Formed as a new martial art in 1995, Jing Quan Dao literary translates as Jing: to grab/capture/alert; Quan: fist or boxing; and Tao: teaching or theory. It is known as the "Way of the Alert Fist" and uses as well as mixing Chinese traditional arts like Eagle Claw

. Violent speed and forceful footwork are applied to shock when attacking and to defeat an opponent's attack when countering.

When practicing Jing Quan Dao, there are three progressive stages that must be in mind.

1st: Striking: 9 traditional Chinese hand-strikes are used, which are:
  1. Fingers: to grap/ poke/ scratch
  2. Fist: to punch/ block
  3. Forearm: to block/ parry/ trap
  4. Foot: kicks are kept to targets below the belt
  5. Head: to headbutt the face/ buttocks/ abdomen
  6. Elbow
  7. Knee
  8. Hips: to throw opponent
  9. Shoulders: to push away opponent


2nd: Throwing: after hitting and countering, quick throws are applied to eliminate opponent's attacks.

3rd: Locks: (also called Chin Na) are used to brake and dislocate opponent's bones and eliminating future advances from the enemy.

Weapons training is limited to battons and two section sticks used to control and disarm.

meditation and exercises are used in the style. Internal (scholar) Qigong for power and external (Warrior/Hard body) Qigong for physical strength and sensitivity/ pain control are trained.
