. The airport is located approximately 33 kilometres (20.5 mi) northeast of the city center and immediately to the north of the town of Yaoqiang after which the airport is named. By road, the airport is connected to the Jiqing (Jinan – Qingdao) and Jingfu (Beijing – Fuzhou) expressways.

As for 2010, Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport was the 24th busiest airport in China with 6,898,936 passengers.
