 and the townships of Penn Forest and South Kidder. It covers a total area of 137 square miles (354.8 km²). It operates three schools: L.B Morris Pre-K - 6, Penn Kidder Pre-K - 8, and Jim Thorpe Area High School. The school district currently hosts over 2500 students in grades K-12 and is growing rapidly. The high school and one of the elementary schools, LB Morris, are located in the town of Jim Thorpe. Penn Kidder Campus, although part of Jim Thorpe Area School District, is located about 15 miles (24.1 km) from Jim Thorpe in the town of Albrightsville.
