, who was taking a sabbatical in Jesse's lab. When Randy founded the Entertainment Technology Center at CMU he invited Jesse to become a faculty member. He joined the faculty in 2002.

In 2004 Jesse founded Schell Games, which specialized in the design and development of interactive experiences.

In 2008, using the design methodologies developed during his time at the ETC, Schell published The Art of Game Design.

He currently continues to teach Building Virtual Worlds and Game Design. At the same time, he is also the CEO and Creative director at Schell Games as well as the Design Director at Sim Ops Studio.

In addition his other achievements, in his career, Jesse has also been a writer, director, performer, juggler, comedian, and circus artist for both Freihofer's Mime Circus and the Juggler's Guild.
