All six of the subway lines pass through the station, totaling 24 departures per hour during most of the day. The station is 0.5 kilometre (0.310686368324903 mi) from Stortinget and submerged 5.2 metres (17.1 ft) below sea level.

It is also the central hub of the Tram network with all six lines using either the platform in front of Christiania Hotel or the one in front of the public transport information centre, Trafikanten.
