The first real big band Jens played with in hir career was Running Wild

Running Wild (band)

Running Wild is a German heavy metal band, formed in 1976 in Hamburg. They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene to emerge in the early to mid 1980s. The band has carved its niche in the metal world as the first "pirate metal" band, a theme which took off with the release of Under...

, which he joined in 1987. He stayed with them for 4 years and did write/co-write a couple of songs during his time in the band.

Just some time later he had quit Running Wild in 1991, a new Speed/Heavy metal band called X-Wild

X-Wild

X-Wild was a German heavy metal band founded in 1993 by three former band members of Running Wild .The trio hired a British vocalist, Frank Knight, and put out their first album, So What!, in 1994....

 was formed by three ex-members of Running Wild (thus the name X (Ex) Wild), which Jens was the only bassist for under its existence. That band got disbanded in 1997.

In 1997 the classic Heavy metal band Grave Digger lost their former bassist Tomi Göttlich and so Jens was asked to take his place. He did join them and has since then remained a solid member of the band.

Some other bands that he has been involved in is Kingdom Come and also the Melodic Heavy metal-project Zillion, releasing a selftitled album in 2004.
