promotion in March 1996 at the K-1 Grand Prix '96 Opening Battle, where he was violently knocked out at the hands of future superstar Peter Aerts
. He later defeated legendary fighter Rob Kaman
via technical knockout due to a shin injury at K-1 Hercules '96 in December of the same year.
In July 1997, he faced Ray Sefo
for the W.K.B.A. World Super Heavyweight Championship at K-1 Dream '97, and lost via unanimous decision after seven rounds. He met Sefo once again that year, only to suffer the same fate once more. He also fought Maurice Smith for the Draka World Super Heavyweight Championship in May 1998, but the bout was ruled a draw.
Since his retirement from fighting, Leuyer has appeared in a number of films including Jet Li
