. Blitzkrieg later faced Guerrera in a rematch at Spring Stampede to determine the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship
, although Guererra managed to defeat Blitzkrieg after hitting a Juvi Driver from the top rope, thus securing the title shot. However, Blitzkrieg later gained his first and only opportunity at a WCW title during an edition of Nitro later in the year when he took part in a match that also included Psicosis and Guererra for Mysterio's Cruiserweight Title, but Blitzkrieg was again unsuccessful as Psicosis ultimately won the match and the title. Blitzkrieg later engaged in more matches with Mysterio before leaving WCW in late 1999 to work on his main job as a computer technician in order to gain more money. Wrestling Observer Newsletter named Blitzkrieg as the 1999 Rookie of the Year.
