proposed the establishment of JPBCC during a visit to Japan
. In May 1984, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone
expressed his interest in creating such a committee while on a visit to Pakistan
. Following this, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry
began preparations to form the committee, and it was inaugurated in November 1984 to promote bilateral business ties, trade, investment, tourism, and other economic activities.
