Recent coverage of the Gaza blockade and flotilla raid have made some of her work, and the work of other journalists, the target of right-wing activists. Leo Rennert, publicly identified by the New York Times as having emailed the editor 164 times in a single year, criticized Zacharia's "assertion that Israel banned school supplies from entering Gaza" as part of its on-going blockade on a conservative website.
