When the Jain religion dominated in India, most of the tourists from different places of India visited Kulpak. At that time most of the Jains settled in Jangaon, which was called Jaingaon at that time. Things changed from time to time and people started calling it "Jangaon".
Kulpak's history starts in 1st century A.D. and there are findings of archaeological sculptures.

Places of interest

  • Jeedikal: Jeedikal is a holy place where devotees worship Shri Ram, Laxman, Sitha and Hanuman. Devotees believe Shri Ram passed through Jeedikal in search of Golden Deer (Mareecha). Jeedikal Jatara is a biennial event. People from all over Telangana region visit this temple to attend the holy events.

  • Kolanupaka: Kolanupaka was the second capital of the Kalyani Chalukyas during the 11th Century AD. During this period the village was the center of the Jains as well as the Saivites. According to literary evidence, it is the birthplace of 'Renukacharya', the great 'Veera Saiva' saint, believed to be born from the 'Svayambaghu Linga' at this village and absorbed into it after preaching Veera Saivam. The place lost its glory after it changed hands from Chalukyas to Cholas and later to Kakatiyas. Besides the Jain temple, other temples at Kulpak are the Shree Veeranarayan temple, and the Shree Someshwara temple.

  • Pembarthi: Pembarthi, located 6 km from Jangaon, is world famous for brass artifacts. The craftsmen at Pembarthi follow the method of embossing on brass and copper sheets. All the buses going to Hyderabad pass through Pembarthi.

  • Komaravelli: Komaravelli is a holy place where devotees worship Komaravelli Mallanna Swamy. Komaravelli is situated a little less than 10 km from Siddipet while going from Hyderabad/Secundrabad. There is frequent bus service from Jangaon.
  • Yadagirigutta: Yadagirigutta is a popular Hindu temple of Narasimha Swamy situated on a hillock, located about 35 km from Jangaon. There is frequent bus service from Jangaon.

  • Shirdi Sai Mandir: Towards Hyderabad a well organized Sai mandir located at a peaceful place away from town. Constructed and maintaining by Sri Palakurthy Lakshmi Nrusimha Sharma Garu.

  • Champak Hills: Champak hills is good place to visit. Panoramic view of the picturesque green hills attracts visitors around this region. There is an Aurobindo ashram over one of the hills. The government is proposing an IT park here and it is in very initial stages.

  • Banapuram: It is a place in Jangaon with greenery and an old Hanuman temple, temple of Lord Venkateshwara and Ayyappa . At the time of Bathukamma festival ladies of Jangaon play bathukamma here .
  • Khilashapur: It is the capital of "Sardar Sarvay Papanna", who fought against Doras of the area. He built a fort in the village. Former DGP Pervaram Ramulu, his famous Telugu scholar brother Pervaram Jagannadham, and AP's Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah are from this village.

  • Palakurthi: It is famous for its Shiva temple which is about 30 km from Jangaon.

Jangaon is well connected with rail and road routes. National highway 202, a State highway passes through the town. It is about 80 km away from the state capital, Hyderabad and 50 km away from warangal city.
  • Air : Nearest air port is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, Hyderabad and Warangal Airport will also likely to be operational soon.
  • Rail : Jangaon is well connected to all the major cities in India by rail. Jangaon Railway station has Reservation facility. There is frequent train service to Secunderabad and Kazipet.
  • Road : Buses ply from Jangaon to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Anantapur, Hubli, Warangal, Siddipet, Vijayawada, cherial, Kodad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Kurnool, Adilabad, Suryapet, Khammam, Bhadrachalam, Basara, Mysore and other cities.

Weather

Jangaon experiences a tropical kind of climate. It's a drought prone area according to Geological survey. Experiences very hot summers, moderate winters and rains less than the average precipitaion.

Major Occupations

The people here directly or indirectly depends on agriculture. Farming, farming related business, education, retail and wholesale business, hand loom, weaving etc. include the major occupations of the people here. It is expected that the completion of J Chokka Rao Godavari Devadula Lift Irrigation Phase - II, will boost the farming activity and also will provide the fluoride free drinking water to the area.

Real Estate Boom:

Due to its strategic location (one and half hour drive from State Capital Hyderabad and an hour drive from District HQ) and excellent Rail and Road Connectivity, there is an excellent demand for lands leading to real estate boom.
