. At the turn of 21st century the population was estimated at about 100,000. Though the population of Jandiala Guru is diverse, it is the original home of Ghangas Jat Sikhs. Other large communities are Jains (mainly jewelers, grain Merchants and businessmen), Thathiars (Steel Utencil makers). Large concentration of these skillful artisans make Jandiala Guru the hub for jewellery and utencils for the surrounding areas.
