. Originally built in 1924 at 405 East Ewing Avenue, the school was demolished and a new facility was completed in the summer of 1999. The new school is 375000 square feet (34,838.6 m²), sitting on a 29.5 acres (119,382.4 m²) campus. The new building holds a maximum capacity of 1800 students.

Academics

When the South Bend Community School Corporation changed to a magnet school setting, Riley was chosen as the Engineering and Technology Magnet Program. Classes for the Engineering Program use the nationally recognized Project Lead the Way Curriculum, including Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Engineering Design and Development.

 championship as well as a city title and a Sectional Title.

Next to swimming, the cross country teams are the most decorated. In the 2008 season, both the boys' and girls' teams were undefeated, wining NIC championship titles, city championships, and Sectional championships. they advanced that season as far as semi-state with a near miss at state due to injuries.

There is also a wrestling team.
