to the Forty-fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1875-March 3, 1883).
He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1882.
He resumed the practice of law.
He served as again judge of the superior court 1885-1892.
He resumed the practice of his profession and also engaged in banking.
He served as delegate to several State conventions.
He died in Essex, Connecticut

He was interred in River View Cemetery.
