Jake Ploeger was a weekend anchor for Channel 4, WTAE-TV
in Pittsburgh, PA from 2002 to 2009. Ploeger started with the station in sports in 2000 and moved to news in 2002. In 2009, Ploeger was offered the sports position, recently vacated by Jon Burton but Ploeger was already leaving. It had nothing to do with the station's buy outs.
During his broadcasting career, Ploeger won the prestigious National Headliner Award and an Emmy in 2005.
Ploeger left broadcasting to work directly for his Father-in-law, Cliff Rowe at P.J. Dick Incorporated, Trumbull Corporation and Lindy Paving. Rowe is the CEO for the companies.
Before broadcasting, Ploeger graduated in 1987 from Shady Side Academy
in Fox Chapel, PA and in 1991 from Allegheny College
in Meadville, PA, where he was a linebacker on the Division III National Championship Team of 1990. Ploeger has two children with his wife, Abbey.
