. The school was established by Mr.Jagadbandhu Roy in 1914 at 25 Fern Road, Kolkata-19. Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee laid the foundation stone on January 11, 1914. The first president and vice-president of the school were respectively Asutosh Choudhury and Rai Bahadur Ramtaran Banerjee. The first school secretary was Rajendra Bidyabhusan.
The school publishes a Bengali annual magazine named Sanchari where students and teachers submit their writings. This magazine nourishes students' creative minds.
The school publishes a Bengali periodicals specially for ex-students of the school named 'Kheya' .
The school has a cricket and football training center. The school organizes sports competition every year. Students of this school participate in different inter-city sport competitions.
