History

Nahariya, which was founded as "Hapoel Nahariya" has played in the Israeli Premier League for the first time in the 1991/92 season. The club played there for two seasons until they relegated to the second league and two years later relegated again to the third league.
In the 1999/00 season, Nahariya has promoted back to the second season and in the 2001/02 season they came beck to the Premier League, after eight years of absence.

In 2009/10 the team relegated to the second league again, after losing a playoff series against Hapoel Holon
