It takes a minimum of three years from the date of opening, for a school to achieve official recognition or “Authorisation” from the International Baccalaureate (IB). Authorisation officially certifies the school’s direction and commitment to the PYP and entitles a school to describe itself as an "IB World School". ISOCS will shortly be registered as a Candidate School. It should be noted however that the founding teaching team are themselves IB PYP school advisors and visit schools to give workshops and conduct Authorisation visits. Consequently the school already aspires to the very highest international standards and anticipates gaining recognition as a leading IB school very quickly.
The school receives excellent support from the local Cham
authority.
The facilities include interactive whiteboards in every classroom, laptop access for every student, a library, a music room and a stage for amateur dramatics.
The local Cham
authority provides the school with access to their modern gymnasiums, swimming pools and four full size soccer pitches. The school has weekly access to other local amenities such as the Cham Music School, the Cham Library and local clubs.
The school week is modelled upon the local Swiss school week so that the students are free on Wednesday afternoons to join in with local Swiss clubs and activities.
The students enjoy a healthy lunch, natural outdoor play and the opportunity to practice their German at a local club called "Teuflibach".

Curriculum
The International School of Central Switzerland (ISOCS) is committed to the beliefs and standards of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. This is a world-renowned curriculum that has been designed specifically for international schools and international understanding. It focuses on the academic, social and emotional development of children around the world for application to life.It takes a minimum of three years from the date of opening, for a school to achieve official recognition or “Authorisation” from the International Baccalaureate (IB).
