European Sleep Research Society, the Japanese Society of Sleep Research, and the Latin American Sleep Society. The ICSD was first published in 1990. In 1997 it was revised; the title was changed to The International Classification of Sleep Disorders, Revised (ICSD-R) and the authorship was changed from "Diagnostic Classification Steering Committee, Thorpy MJ, Chairman" to "American Academy of Sleep Medicine". A second edition, called ICSD2, was published in 2005.
