(IITDU) is an educational institution aimed at developing efficient manpower in the field of information technology
. IIT currently offers Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Masters in Information Technology (MIT) and Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT). In addition IIT frequently publishes its research works in international journals and conferences. IIT strives to keep pace with the ever changing and fast growing needs of IT industry.

BIT(SE) program is a four-year industry-oriented degree. Two and a half years of study will be followed by a half-year industry placement before the final year of study. Students will be assisted by the Institute in their placement for internship. Students then integrate their industry experience within their studies when they return for their final year. BIT(SE) program intends to develop in students strong communication skills together with an outward worldly focus, positive personality and business attitudes. Establishment
In the annual session of June 2001, The Dhaka University Senate established Institute of Information Technology (IIT) by converting the erstwhile Computer Center (Estd. in 1985). The aim was to train skilled manpower in the field of Information Technology (IT) and to establish computer network in the University.Courses

Bachelor of Information Technology
Bachelor of Information Technology (Major in Software Engineering), BIT(SE) in short, is the under-graduation degree offered by the institute. The degree is expected to be particularly suited to people with high technical aspirations and strong communication skills.BIT(SE) program is a four-year industry-oriented degree. Two and a half years of study will be followed by a half-year industry placement before the final year of study. Students will be assisted by the Institute in their placement for internship. Masters in Information Technology
A four years BSc / BSc (Engg.) degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or a minium 3 years Bachelor degree with a PGDIT degree is the minimum qualification for appearing in the entrance examination. The programme extends over two-semesters/one academic year of full-time study. Classes will be held during normal working hours. The programme requires minimum 36 credit hours of course work.Further details can be found here
Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology
The PGDIT is an one-year programme on the principles and practice of information technology. At least two years degree in BA / BS / BSc / BSc (Engg.) is the minimum qualification for appearing in the entrance examination.
