Ingbirchworth is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire

Ingbirchworth has its own reservoir, the eldest of the three situated in the area, and currently has one local pub or inn - The Fountain Inn, a 4 star hotel as well as a restaurant and bar with an area for a family atmosphere. The village is in the civil parish of Gunthwaite and Ingbirchworth. At the 2001 census, the civil parish had a population of 400.
Ingbirchworth is situated 9 and a half miles from Barnsley.
Close by, is what most residents or previous residents call Scout Dyke (a reference to its being a World War II base for US troops), now Kingswood Peak Venture, opposite Scout Dyke Reservoir. This is situated between Penistone and Ingbirchworth.
Ingbirchworth has its own Methodist Church. There are no chain stores, but there is a small corner shop that sells all necessary items on Welthorne Lane.
The previous village pub, The Rose And Crown, closed down and has since been demolished and new houses have been built on its place.
During extreme droughts in the summer the reservoir has been known to dry out to the extent that the old bridge over the original stream, The Summer Ford Bridge, can be seen.
