Infinite Energy
Encyclopedia
Infinite Energy is a bi-monthly magazine published in New Hampshire
that details theories and experiments concerning alternative energy
. Subtitled The Magazine of New Energy Technology, it was founded by the late Eugene Mallove
, and is owned by the non-profit New Energy Foundation. It was established in 1994 as Cold Fusion magazine and changed its name in March 1995.
Topics of interest include "new hydrogen physics," also called cold fusion
; vacuum energy, or zero point energy; and so-called "environmental energy" which they define as the attempt to violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics
, for example with a perpetual motion machine. This is done in pursuit of the founder's commitment to "unearthing new sources of energy and new paradigms in science." The magazine has also published articles and book reviews that are critical of the big bang
theory that describes the origin of the universe
.
The magazine has a print run of 5000. About half of these are sold by subscription while the other half are distributed via newsstands. The issues range in size from 50 to 100 pages. The advisory board and contributors tend to be cold fusion scientists who also contribute to the Journal of Fusion Technology but Infinite Energy is written in an accessible style for a wider, popular audience.
New Hampshire
New Hampshire is a state in the New England region of the northeastern United States of America. The state was named after the southern English county of Hampshire. It is bordered by Massachusetts to the south, Vermont to the west, Maine and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Canadian...

Eugene Mallove
Eugene Franklin Mallove was a science writer, editor and publisher of the magazine Infinite Energy, founder of the non-profit New Energy Foundation, a strong proponent of cold fusion, and a supporter of research into that and related exploratory alternative energy topics, some of which are...

Cold fusion
Cold fusion, also called low-energy nuclear reaction , refers to the hypothesis that nuclear fusion might explain the results of a group of experiments conducted at ordinary temperatures . Both the experimental results and the hypothesis are disputed...

Second law of thermodynamics
The second law of thermodynamics is an expression of the tendency that over time, differences in temperature, pressure, and chemical potential equilibrate in an isolated physical system. From the state of thermodynamic equilibrium, the law deduced the principle of the increase of entropy and...

Big Bang
The Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model that explains the early development of the Universe. According to the Big Bang theory, the Universe was once in an extremely hot and dense state which expanded rapidly. This rapid expansion caused the young Universe to cool and resulted in...
theory that describes the origin of the universe
Physical cosmology
Physical cosmology, as a branch of astronomy, is the study of the largest-scale structures and dynamics of the universe and is concerned with fundamental questions about its formation and evolution. For most of human history, it was a branch of metaphysics and religion...
