History

The railway west of Brisbane, brought significant growth to suburbs close to the city such as Indooroopilly, Taringa & Toowong. The station was first opened on the 14 June 1875.

In mid-2007, the Queensland Government, through TransLink

, provided QR Citytrain with funds to upgrade Indooroopilly Station to improve disability access, attractiveness and security in and around the station. In July 2007, preliminary works began on Platforms 3 & 4, therefore closing both platforms to all trains. In January 2008, Platforms 3 & 4 were reopened and Platforms 1 & 2 closed for renovations. The station upgrades were completed in 2009.
