History

Founded in 2007, the IUHC found moderate success, and was originally associated with the entire town of Bloomington, Indiana

 and not just the university. The original Bloomington Club competed in the Indianapolis Hurling Club's summer league. With a rising fresh student base, the club quickly moved to a student and club sport at IU. In 2010 the IUHC officially revived its club status.

 Weekend, 2011, the IU competed in Chicago, Illinois at the Chicago Gaelic Park in the first ever North American Gaelic Athletic Association Collegiate Championship. The IUHC won its first match by a point, and then beat long time Indiana hurling rivals, Purdue University

 to secure its spot in the championship final. The IUHC played UC Berkeley in the final match, beating them by four points. This made the IUHC the first ever National Collegiate GAA champions in history, with captain Christopher R. Cox receiving the trophy for his team.
