History

In 1950 the route was built as US 30 Bypass. Then in the late 1980s the route was to be decommissioned as a US 30, but Allen County, the city of Fort Wayne, and the City of New Haven did not have funds for the roadway. So the INDOT

 commissioned the route as SR 930. SR 930 was the route of US 30, US 33, and SR 37 from I-69 to US 27, where US 33 turned south. US 30 and SR 37 contiuned east. Then at Crescent Ave SR 37 turned northeast and US 30 contiuned southeast. Then at the interchange with Washington Ave. US 30 met US 24 and SR 14 and headed east toward New Haven. Then at Lincoln Highway US 30 turned south east, US 24 and SR 14 headed downtown New Haven.
