. His surname is taken from the famous Turkish tribe of Safi which played important role in organization of Safavid dynasty in the beginning of 16th century. He belonged the remniscents of this clan. Later he graduated from Moscow fine Arts Academy. At the period of World War I he came to Istanbul and became Turkish citizen. He is graduated from Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi in 1923. He is well known his impressionist - realist artworks.
