 and was formerly a Kataeb party official. He was head of the Kataeb’s Koura district bureau from 1973 to 1978. Najjar is also a law professor at Saint Joseph University.
After high school at St. Joseph's College Antoura and studies at the Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut and in France, Najjar was involved in politics in the Kataeb party

 and approximates with the former president Amine Gemayel. He was a member of the Political Bureau of the Kataeb in the 1970s.

Ibrahim Najjar is the author of an important thesis on the "potestative rights" in the French law, and of two major law books on Family laws in Lebanon, together with a law Dictionary (French Arabic and Arabic French). His writings in the famous Dalloz Encyclopedia and Dalloz Bulletin are well known. I. Najjar is the owner and editor of The Lebanese Review Of Arab And International Arbitration, since 1996.

The National medal for Human rights was attributed to I. Najjar in 2010 after his draft law to abolish death penalty in Lebanon

A teacher of law, he was tutor for the current Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ziad Baroud. In July 2008, the Lebanese Forces, led by Samir Geagea, in agreement with the party Kataeb, joined the new national unity government headed by Fouad Siniora
