The song received very positive responses from critics. The song is also one of Selena's signature songs. Fifteen years after her death, Teresa Jusino of Popmatters

wrote: "Even the most sheltered English-speaking music fan might not know Selena's name, but if you mention her hit singles, "Dreaming of You", or "I Could Fall in Love," they'll likely respond with 'I remember that song!', or 'I love that one!'." Mary Talbot of the Daily News wrote:
The new songs are sturdy, generic pop numbers that will resonate with her Tejano following, but there aren't enough of them to prove her strength or breadth as an English-language artist. Selena's forte as a performer was her bridging of traditional Mexican music with a contemporary American pop sensibility, and that skill doesn't figure with these songs. But the album does point up a blossoming emotive range. Selena delivers the lushly produced love confessional "I Could Fall In Love" in a soft, velvety voice over whispered phrases and Spanish guitar. On the R&B-laced "I'm Getting Used To You" and title track, she dips into playful, growly vocalizations. On "God's Child," a bilingual duet with David Byrne, and "Wherever You Are," a remixed Spanglish duet with the Barrio Boyzz, Selena's voice is oddly faint. Whether intentional or not, the pale vocals hint of her absence. Two of the most poignant and artful pieces are traditional rancheras Selena recorded for the soundtrack of "Don Juan DeMarco." Her voice, appropriately tortured and tequila-stained, rasps through the lyrics of desperate and unrequited love.

The video has clips of Selena's music videos, award ceremonies, concerts, and photos. It is the first single to be released posthumousy.
