ICND1
Encyclopedia
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1(ICND1) is the first half of the CCNA
Certification or stands alone as the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification. CCNA
certification is usually required to hold titles such as Network Analyst or Network Administrator in the mainstream job market. ICND1 training is followed by ICND2 training Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2. ICND1 training teaches a networking professional to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small branch office network. This training teaches the fundamentals of connecting to a WAN and basic security as well as wireless concepts. ICND1 includes cross platform routing and switching fundamentals not necessarily centric to Cisco. ICND1 uses the TCP/IP and OSI
models for IP addressing, WAN
technologies as well as operating and configuring IOS devices.
ICND1 is the common acronym for Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1. The credential of Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) is often placed after a networking professional's name on a business card or resume to indicate they have passed the ICND1 Exam.
