Hughes Hall College Boat Club is the rowing
club for members of Hughes Hall, Cambridge
. It is more formally known by the Cambridge University Combined Boat Clubs as the Hughes Hall/ Lucy Cavendish Combined Boat Club after its merging with the boat club of Lucy Cavendish College, an all-women's college of Cambridge University. This combination is the only of its type at Cambridge, and is subject to significant controversy regarding both the ability of the two colleges to combine membership and the significant disparity between larger and smaller colleges as a whole.
Since the merging of the two college boat clubs, Hughes Hall/ Lucy Cavendish have enjoyed significant advances in the past three years, marked by three squads winning blades 2009 May Bumps
. 2009 also marked the first time in boat club history in which Hughes Hall/ Lucy Cavendish fielded four entries into May Bumps, reaching the appropriate entry minimum for consideration for the Mitchell Cup (this did not occur due to entry shortfalls by the boat club in Lent Bumps). However, success in 2009 resulted Hughes Hall/ Lucy Cavendish winning Pegasus Cup for the 2nd time (first won in 2007) in the three years it has been given out. The Pegasus Cup is awarded to the boat club that shows the largest cumulative advancement in the Lent and May Bumping Races.
Hughes Hall admits many students on one-year degrees. As such, the boat club trains many novices each year. Top performers are often given opportunities in the first VIII. The Boat Club houses its four rowing shells in the Emmanuel Boathouse. The women's crew is organised jointly with Lucy Cavendish Boat Club, the boat club for Lucy Cavendish College.
. In 2009 Hughes had one representative in the Blue boat (removed due to sickness on the eve of the race) and half the roster of Goldie
, the 2nd Varsity boat. 2010 continued this pace of placing significant numbers of Hughes Hall rowers in the varsity races. Of particular note is the 2010 CUBC President, Deaglen McEachern, the first representative from Hughes Hall to hold this post.
Hughes Hall has also had two trialists for the CULRC, the lightweight varsity squad, and several trialists for CUWBC, the women's varsity squad.
. The men's 2nd boat achieved a double overbump and an overbump on consecutive days enroute to a 10 space advance and a permanent spot in the field. 2009 was the third consecutive Mays in which the W1 won blades (2007–2009). The men and women both won blades in May Bumps

Despite the age of the colleges, Hughes Hall/ Lucy Cavendish are by far the youngest of the Cambridge Colleges on the river.
