In 1650 he traveled to Rome but was in Amsterdam by 1660 where he engraved a set of 30 plates after designs made by Jan Bennokel, from the marble statues executed by Artus Quellinus I in the Amsterdam City Hall, which plates are marked with the initials of both the artists, A. Q. If. Q. They form a volume in folio

He also engraved some portraits. His plates are etched in a singular style, resembling that of Pieter Soutman
