Howard M. Jones was a Democratic
member of the Louisiana State Senate
from St. Joseph
in Tensas Parish
in northeastern Louisiana
, who served two terms from 1960 to 1968.
Jones' tenure corresponded with the second nonconsecutive administration of Governor Jimmie Davis
and the first term of John J. McKeithen. In addition to Tensas Parish, his two-member district included Concordia
, East Carroll
, and Madison
parishes. In his first term, his district colleague was Andrew L. Sevier
of Tallulah
, who died in 1962, and was succeeded by his wife, the former Irene Jordan (1901–1973). In his second term, Jones served with the Democrat Charles M. Brown, also of Tallulah, who became his successor in 1968, after further redistricting.
