In present-day Honduran literature, major poets include Rebeca Becerra, Rubén Izaguirre, and César Indiano; the latter also writes short stories and novels. In the young generation of poets, major voices include Fabricio Estrada, Salvador Madrid, Heber Sorto, Armando Maldonado, and Edgardo Floriá, who appear in major anthologies in Honduras and elsewhere.
The three most prominent figures of contemporary Honduran literature are novelist and short story writer Roberto Quesada, with his novel Los barcos, poet and editor Amanda Castro
