History

In 1923, Mary and Vincent Grittani owned a small bar on 31st Street in Chicago. When a home run

 game was hit through the tavern's window, the couple decided to rename the tavern Home Run Inn. In the 1940s, the famous pizza recipe was developed and perfected. From there, the company expanded into frozen pizza, constructing a USDA compliant factory adjacent to the original restaurant in Chicago.

Today, Home Run Inn operates seven restaurant locations, the original manufacturing facility in Chicago and a large USDA manufacturing location that opened in 1996 in Woodridge, Illinois

data, the frozen pizza is the number one selling frozen pizza brand in Chicago. Home Run Inn pizzas contain no trans fats and are made with natural ingredients. Home Run Inn pizza was also voted number one by AOL in its “Best Of” contest.

In recent years the company has expanded its distribution of their frozen pizzas to stores beyond the Chicago area.

The family atmosphere of the restaurants makes the locations a popular destination for birthdays, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, funerals, and graduation celebrations.
