 northwest of Holte. The town has a number of small lakes and parks, including the large Furesø Park on the shores of the lake. It is partially bounded on the southeast by municipal neighbor Lyngby-Taarbæk's large park, Ravnsholm Park with the Mølleå (Mill River).

At the top of the hill near Rudersdal is Holte Church (Holte Kirke), which was dedicated in 1945.

The town of Old Holte (Gammel Holte) is approximate 3 miles east of the town.

In the summer of 2011 Holte will be hosting the world championship for cyclist with start and finish on the top of Geel's Hill (Geels bakke)
