It grows to 40 cm tall and has clusters of narrow leaves that are 4 to 6 mm long and about 0.5 mm wide. Yellow flowers appear from winter to early summer.
The species was first formally described in 1817 by botanist Robert Brown
in Augustin Pyramus de Candolle's Regni Vegetabilis Systema Naturale.
