 in the tooth fungus group. It is often mistaken for Hericium coralloides due to their shared traits and similar looks. It can be identified by its tendency to grow all the spines out from branches, short spines (less than 1 cm length) and its appearance on hardwood logs and stumps. Hericium ramosum can be mistaken for three other species of Hericium
