Lascelles founded the firm of Lascelles and Maxwell, sugar factors, of Mark Lane, London; which in 1763 became Lascelles Clarke and Daling .

He and his first wife Mary Carter (daughter of Edwin Carter, whom he married on 8 April 1712) had three children:
