Heim is a village and former municipality in Sør-Trøndelag
county, Norway
. The municipality included most of the area around the Hemnefjord. The village of Heim is located in the present-day municipality of Hemne
, just east of Hellandsjøen

). On 1 January 1911, Hemne was divided and Heim became a municipality of its own with 1,533 inhabitants. On 1 January 1964, Heim ceased to exist as a municipality. The district of Vestre Heim (Western Heim, the area west of the Hemnefjord) with its 711 inhabitants was merged back into Hemne. At the same time, the district of Austre Heim (Eastern Heim) became a part of the municipality of Snillfjord
