Heavy MTL is a two-day heavy metal and hard rock festival in Montreal, Quebec, at Parc Jean-Drapeau
Parc Jean-Drapeau
Parc Jean-Drapeau is situated to the east of downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the Saint Lawrence River. It comprises two islands, Saint Helen's Island and the artificial island Île Notre-Dame....

 on Île Sainte-Hélène held in the summer. The 2008 edition attracted a crowd of around 36,000 people.

Artists who played at the inaugural Heavy MTL festival include: Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, Disturbed, Mastodon, Symphony X, 3 Inches of Blood, Anthrax,KoRn, Slayer and many more.

It was announced that the 2009 version of the festival was to be cancelled. Despite the success of the 2008 festival, there were too many metal bands that played live shows in Montreal during the year (Metallica, AC/DC, Kiss, Dream Theater, Marilyn Manson, Motorhead and many more). According to the official website, the festival will be back in summer 2010.
