. It is located between Waters Grove, Marlborough Road and Hardy Crescent.

History

Established in 1993 following the amalgamation of Eastern Secondary College and Heathmont Secondary College, the college operated as a dual campus school until it was consolidated onto the Waters Grove (Junior & Middle School) campus for the start of Term 2, 2003.

Composition of School

Heathmont College is divided into two sub-schools. Both sub-schools are overseen by a Head of School.

Junior School

There is currently no Junior School. The Junior School has merged with the Middle School.

Middle School

Head of School: Alison Richards

The current Middle School incorporates all students in Year 7, 8 and Year 9. Currently, each year level has two coordinators (except for Year 7 which only has one) who are responsible for ensuring the wellbeing and and discipline of the students in their year level. The current coordinators consist of H. Christodoulou, M. Canterford, E. Sellers, S. Joseph and G Brasier. There is also a HiPe@9 co-ordinator who oversees and takes care of everything within the HiPe@9 program. .
The school currently focuses on making sure year sevens have a smooth transition from primary school to secondary school. There is a range of things that the school provides year 7 students with to participate in ranging from a camp in the first week, to great leadership opportunities and student wellbeing talks. The school prides itself on making sure year sevens feel comfortable to come to school. There is also lots of opportunities for year eights too such as becoming members of the student representative council and there is a Canberra tour that allows the year 8s to visit our nations capital and some important landmarks. There is pastoral care sessions ran to make sure year eights are getting the most of their schooling . In year nine, students are able to pick their own electives. This provides students with a great range of choice and responsibility. Heathmont College runs a HiPe@9 program for all year nine students. The program goes over 2 terms and allows the students to work in a range of situations in different groups and individually. The program is run an open space which allows three to four classes to be in there learning at the same time. The objectives of the program are to provide students with good life skills and to have student centred learning. Even though students in HiPe@9 are in a different learning environment, they still learn Literacy and Numeracy. While in the HiPe@9 program, students are provided with the opportunity to go into Melbourne City and participate in a wide range of activities based on what the students are currently learning in class as well as some fun and exciting activities.

Senior School

The college's Senior School incorporates all students from Year 10 to Year 12.

HIPE@Yr9

Introduced at the commencement of 2008, the Year 9 program (known as HIPE@Yr9) has radically altered the focus of teaching at the Year 9 level in an attempt to foster greater motivation for students to remain connected with school activities. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively to investigate and solve real life problems over two terms spaced across the length of the year.

 (VCE) is offered to all students in Years 11 and 12.
Many VCE subjects are also offered to Year 10 students, with composite classes involving students in Years 10 and 11 common at the college. Those Year 10 students who satisfactorily complete Units 1 and 2 in a subject are generally permitted to continue that study at the Unit 3 and 4 level in Year 11, alongside their Year 12 peers.
