School Enrollment

It draws its students from a large geographical area including the villages of Cross-in-Hand, Horam, Mayfield and Burwash. There are currently over 1400 students on roll with approximately 250 in the 6th Form. Its current Headteacher is Alan Powell. Other senior staff include Mr Roney as head of year 7, Mrs Chapman as Head of Year Eight, Ms Smith as Head of Year Nine, Mr Pooley as Head of Year Ten, Ms Delow as head of year eleven and finally Mr Howard as Head of the Sixth Form. Founded in 1950, the school was initially envisioned to include an average of 800 students, but the college now finds itself receiving an average enrollment of 1,400 students between the ages of 11-18 years old.

Heathfield Community College is separated into two sections, Secondary School and Sixth Form college.

Specialist Status

Since 2003, Heathfield Community College has been a Specialist College in the Visual and Performing Arts. This provides funding for the college to be used for The Arts.
