Ragsdale grew up in the American soccer hotbed of North Texas. She began playing soccer at the age of five on the Jammers team in Arlington, Texas. Ragsdale lettered three years at the annual powerhouse Martin High School

. In 1998, she was a member of the Martin soccer team that won the state title. An all-around athlete, Ragsdale participated in basketball, cross country, and track.

. As a sophomore she was named to the NSCAA first-team All Central Region. Heading into her junior year, she was the sixth all-time points leader. Ragsdale developed plantar fasciitis

 her junior year and, as a consequence, scored only one goal for the Aggies that year. Although plagued by a hamstring injury her senior year, she would returned to form scoring 13 goals, one shy of her career high 14 goals set as a sophomore.

In 2003 Ragsdale graduate from Texas A & M with a Political Science degree.

WUSA

After graduating college, Ragsdale set out to play professional soccer. In 2003 she joined the Carolina Courage

. However, the WUSA fell into financial ruin and collapsed later the same year, cutting short a promising young career. Ragsdale played briefly in China before returning home and retiring from professional soccer.
