The total enrolment is approximately 1,100 students, with 150 teachers/staff in total. Most students reside in the western suburbs of Melbourne, in suburbs such as Hoppers Crossing, Werribee, Sanctuary Lakes, Truganina, Point Cook, Burnside, Taylors Hill, Hillside, Kings Park, Brooklyn, Laverton, Melton, Keilor, Keilor East, Keilor Park, Keilor Downs, Tullamarine, Laverton, Deer Park, Caroline Springs, Altona, Laverton, Laverton, Seaholme, South Kingsville, Seddon, Williamstown, Williamstown North, Laverton, Yarraville, Taylors Lakes, Altona North, Altona Meadows, Altona West, Werribee South, Werribee North, and Tarneit The current principal of Heathdale Christian College is Reynald Tibben.
The school has a co-curricular program that includes activities such as debating, public speaking, choirs, outdoor education and various sports. The senior year levels (9-12) have the opportunity to compete in a yearly inter-school sports and academic competition with Tyndale Christian School (located in South Australia) to win the 'Dale Cup', while the year eights have the opportunity to compete in a yearly inter-school sports and academic competition with King's College (located in Warrnambool).
House system
Heathdale Christian College is divided into four houses:- Carey -yellow,named after William Carey.
- Judson -blue, named after Adoniram Judson.
- Taylor -red,named after Hudson Taylor.
- Stanway -green, named after Alfred Stanway.
Year levels from five to eight and nine to twelve take part in house meetings once a fortnight, at which attendance is compulsory. Inter-house competition regularly takes place each year and includes activities such as debating, public speaking, a General Knowledge competition, chess, various sports, A Battle of the Bands for the Senior School and a 'Choral Competition'. Three major carnival events (swimming, athletics and cross-country running) form the main part of this competition. A shield is awarded to the house with the most points over the course of the year.
The Aims of the College
The aims of the College are as follows:1. To provide education at Kindergarten, Junior, Middle and Senior Schools for boys and girls from a wide range of backgrounds in an environment consistent with the Theological Foundations.
2. To provide education which affirms the relevance of the Christian Gospel to each individual.
3. To provide education which highlights the value of every individual and to support each student as he or she develops, instilling in each student concern and respect for the needs, abilities and convictions of others.
4. To provide education which engenders an appreciation of beauty, goodness and truth.
5. To provide education which stresses a sense of community and to develop individual gifts so that students will be able to make an informed and responsible contribution to the local area and to society in general.
6. To provide education which highlights the importance of family life, respects equally all forms of work, and which honours those who seek justice, equality and peace.
