Princess Haya was a daughter of Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia
and his wife, Mudhi. She was the second oldest of Ibn Saud's and Mudhi's four children. She had three other direct brothers and sisters born to Ibn Saud and Mudhi - an older sister, Sultana
(ca. 1928-2008), and two younger brothers, Majid
(October 9, 1938 - April 12, 2003) and Sattam (born January 21, 1941).
She became the patron of the Saudi Cricket Centre
in 2001, which is the governing body of cricket
in Saudi Arabia. She died of an illness at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital
in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 2, 2009. She was 80 years old. Her funeral was held at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Masjid in Riyadh on November 3, 2009. King Abdullah
attended her funeral prayers with other members of the Saudi royal family, officials and dignitaries.
