. It was led by a Muslim datu named Hassan who took the title Panglima. He, along with 400 to 500 Tausug warriors, went uphill and fought the Americans. The uprising ended only when Hassan, after recovering from his 33 gunshots, saw that there is no hope to defeat the American army.
