Haseeb A. Drabu was the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Jammu & Kashmir Bank
from 2005 to 2010.
Dr Drabu was born in 1961 and educated in India, receiving a M & D. Phil (Doctorate) in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University

Dr. Drabu started his career with the Government of India in 1990, first with the perspective Planning Division of the Planning Commission of India, then as a consultant to the Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister and finally with the Tenth Finance Commission.
Dr. Drabu was an economic advisor (with a Minister of State Status) to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir
between January 2003 to 2009 and has formulated the state's first ever zero deficit budget and planned wide ranging tax reforms, methods of expenditure compression and an innovative scheme to reduce the debt stock of the State Government.
He is a member of the management committee of the Indian Banks' Association
