 and published by Coach House Press. The magazine is best known for prose, poetry, art, and photography contributed by emerging writers and artists in Canada.

The inaugural issue was published in 1992. The Hart House Review publishes the winners of the Hart House literary, poetry, drama, and photography contests as well as the E. J. Pratt

 Poetry Prize winner. HHR also accepts direct submissions for publication under these categories. Various forms of art contributions also continue to be accepted. The editorial team also solicits works from select contributors within and outside of the University of Toronto

In 2011 the senior editors for the Review were successful in their application for Magazines Canada membership, resulting in national distribution. The magazine's content can be fully accessed online, although the comprehensive online archiving of past editions is still in process.

HHR regularly organizes literary events. At their annual launch, contest winners are feted, featured writers read from their published contributions, and artists’ work is shown. The launch usually occurs in April.
